Keith Anderson was born and spent his early childhood on the bottom of Lake Berryessa in Northern California, which at that time was Berryessa Valley. He progressed through the Napa County Public School System, then continued his education for three years in the U.S. Army. He completed the M.D. program at Loma Linda University in Southern California and practiced medicine in Kentucky, Tennessee, and California for a few years (not much to his liking).

After that, he continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado where he received masters and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics and applied statistics. Subsequently he served for many years as Professor of Mathematics at Pacific Union College, a Seventh-day Adventist school. He also taught classes in health science for the Physical Education Department on numerous occasions. From his late teens Dr. Anderson has been an avid student of the Bible. Before his death, c.1996, he lived with his wife Marcella in North Carolina and taught a Sunday School Class, led out in the music, and often provides prayer meeting studies at a nearby Missionary Baptist Church.
